Promoting the art of photography from the past, present, and with an eye on the future is the mission of Austin Center for Photography.
Through lectures, discussion groups, and educational opportunities, ACP brings a deeper appreciation for photography to Austin's vibrant arts community.
ACP launched the Icons of Photography Lecture Series in 2009. Three to four world-renowned photographers are slated each year, presenting their work and methods to packed auditoriums. Some previous Icons include Mary Ellen Mark, Alec Soth, Elliott Erwitt, and Bruce Davidson, to name only a few. Recently, ACP has added the much needed Texas Photo Roundup for it's second year in 2013. Local and national sponsors help TPR offer 2 days of portfolio reviews, lectures, slideshows, and helpful information for the professional photographer. ACP continues to offer more events to the Austin community, please view all the opportunities that we offer on our website.
As a membership driven organization and a non-profit with 501(c)(3) status, ACP is funded by membership dues, workshop fees, call for submission fees, donations, and grants. ACP welcomes photographers, students and the general public to become members and to help expand knowledge and appreciation for photography in all its forms.
